We have no special place for the EWS64S-links in our Useful Links section, so it's more to the point to mention them here. At least one of them so far:

Issue from Terratec FAQ What is the right Cubase AV-XL edition setup for use with the EWS64-S?

The best settings to resolve sync-problems between audio and midi are as follows:

  • Start Cubasis AV-XL Edition.
  • Open the 'Audio' menu and then select 'Hardware Settings'.
  • Click on 'Advanced settings'.
  • Now you have to select the audio driver Cubasis AV-XL Edition uses for playing back audio.
  • Use a 'EWS64 S Synth Play' driver and as 'Sync reference' select the 'Sample Position' method. This should solve the problems for the most part. Synchronization via 'DMA-Block' is not as accurate as via the 'Sample Position' method.

Under certain circumstances, graphics cards can also be the cause of timing and synchronization problems. To find the source of this problem you should try using the standard Windows VGA driver and switch off any 3D functions, if available.

If this solves the problem, you should ask the manufacturer of your graphics card for new drivers.

Under Windows 95/98 the help file always displays the same error message: '1024 the helpfile is corrupt, please contact the manufacturer'.

This error message is displayed on some systems. You can, however, ignore the message because the help system's functionality is not diminished at all.
